The Saga

Collected here for the very first time: The Completed Saucer Country contains the entire runs of Vertigo's Saucer Country, IDW's Saucer State and the prologue from Strange Adventures, plus a BRAND NEW CONCLUDING CHAPTER in a bumper-sized 440 page softcover volume!

THEY'RE UP THERE... Meet Arcadia Alvarado, Governor of New Mexico and Presidential hopeful. She's dealing with immigration policy, budget cuts, an alcoholic ex -- and says she was abducted by aliens. She's about to toss her hat into the ring as a candidate for President in the most volatile political climate ever. But then...a lonely road and a nightmarish encounter have left her with terrible, half-glimpsed memories.

With the help of her quirky staff, Arcadia pursues the truth of her abduction through shadowy organizations, hypno-regression therapy and missing Roswell files, and, in a desperate act, she seeks help from a disgraced, Harvard UFOologist who... might not be completely sane. It's a strange road to the White House but Alvarado is determined to get there because she has information that could stop an alien invasion and save the world.

"Saucer Country is a trip through UFO mythology, a subject I've always been fascinated with. It's a dark, suspenseful, serious thriller with, I hope, some warm, very human characters at the heart of it." - Paul Cornell

Arcadia wins the presidency, and now that she commands the highest office in the country, she is going to use her power to covertly find out how much of her ‘alien abduction’ experience was real. But she will have to act fast as the biggest event in world history begins to unfold around her.

"In Saucer State, we get into the Hollywood history of UFO mythology in the 1970s, take a walk in the New Mexico desert with a dose of philosophy from the ‘machine elves’ -- and there’s a cliffhanger ending. It’s very much about the search for truth in a world of disinformation. And hence the series guest stars Philip K. Dick and Vladimir Putin." - Paul Cornell

The series also features short stand-alone stories besides the main plot. These stories are "true stories" - accounts of people who claim to have been abducted by aliens.

Stretch Goals

Timeline

As of the launch of the campaign, all of the material is ready for print except the final chapter, which has been fully scripted. A few pages from the final chapter have been completed and the rest will be worked on throughout the campaign and after. We anticipate the new pages to be finished within a month after the end of the campaign, and are aiming to head to the printers at the very beginning of 2023.

Printing and shipping should take around three to four months from that point, so delivery of rewards is expected to be done around May 2023.

The pandemic has shown that certain conditions are simply out of anybody’s hands. However, Zoop will always be here to communicate with backers should any delays occur, if there’s confusion about delivery, or if any other concerns pop up.

A few short answers to how this works.
