The Cause

Transgender youth are the most vulnerable of us.

I was a transgender kid. I’m alive and well today because I have parents that love and support me - and parents that settled in a state I could grow up safely in. Unfortunately, as we’re seeing in Texas, not everyone has this privilege.

I firmly believe that those who have the ability to help also have the obligation to help. That’s why I’ve created this pin design and campaign: To give back and help as best I can and maybe create opportunities for others to chip in as well.

The funding goal for this campaign is $400 - just enough to produce the pins and ship them out. All proceeds from the #ProtectTransKids pin will benefit TENT (Transgender Education Network of Texas).

To keep costs down, we’re opting to ship only domestically. If you’re outside the US, please consider donating a pin!

Professionally Me Pin Series

This was my first foray into pin design - a collaboration with my sister who will proudly tell you that you’ll be wearing her handwriting. We sell these online and at conventions through our comic company, Arledge Comics. But!! If you order them through this campaign, 50% of proceeds from these pins will be donated to TENT as well!

Bio

Jordaan Arledge - Pin Designer

I’m a comic book writer and editor by trade. A couple years ago I started exploring pin design with my sister when we collaborated on our Professionally Me pin series. I like to create designs that people feel good wearing.

Timeline

The pin is designed and the proof approved! We also have a healthy stock of shipping materials. We just need to produce the pins. Our manufacturer says production time will be 4 - 5 weeks. We’re donating our time in packing and shipping everything, so give us a generous 2 - 3 weeks to complete that. So you’ll have pins 6 - 8 weeks after funding!

A few short answers to how this works.
