Before hover parents, children ran wild. The wildest of these feral children were the Switchblade Shorties, operating as a kind of foul-mouthed, irreverent Our Gang: “Sodapop” Tanner, Pinky Winslow, Sheena Belvedere, “Charly Horse” Kinison and Foster Lambert. When their friend Petey Wheatcakes disappears, the Switchblade Shorties turn off their video games and try to find him. Instead, they encounter aliens, Bigfoot, werewolves, and more in this twisted ode to the 1990s - an era before the internet destroyed our imaginations.
Earlier this year, the comics world lost a singular unique voice with the untimely passing of Ed Piskor. To celebrate his life and legacy, his family are picking up where he left off. They have united together to release his final unpublished work, Switchblade Shorties, as a gorgeous hardcover that fans of Ed's work will not want to miss. Originally appearing as the backup strip Latchkey Kidz in Piskor's Red Room, the strip was retitled Switchblade Shorties when officially launched online as its own daily comic strip.
The landscape formatted 12x9 hardcover book contains over 176 pages of Ed Piskor at his best. The book is written, drawn, colored and lettered by Piskor alone. His family has taken great measures to make this release as special as possible and ensure that the book is being presented exactly as Ed had originally intended.
Piskor’s family has been instrumental in ensuring the legacy of Ed Piskor remains a vibrant one in the world of comics, and that his contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
"Our family is pleased and honored to release Switchblade Shorties. Eddie’s passion for comics is really something to celebrate in this story. You can see the fun he had designing this book" - Bobby Piskor

#About Ed
Ed Piskor is an Eisner Award Winning comic book creator who began his professional work in comics working for Havery Pekar of American Splendor fame. From there, he had his first self published title, Wizzy Wig in 2012.
Perhaps best known for his 4 volume series, Hip Hop Family Tree, Piskor would go on to design many projects for icons in the hip hop industry as well as co-host his insanely popular youtube channel, “Cartoonist Kayfabe”. This led to creating X-Men Grand Design for Marvel, and Ed being the first creator to ever handle all duties on an X-book.
Piskor then returned to his creator owned roots with Red Room, and was finalizing Switchblade Shorties before he passed away.
"On behalf of the Piskor Family, we would like to thank you all for the support you have shown us during this extremely difficult time. The amount of fan art, messages, and kind words have meant so much to the entire family." - Bobby Piskor
“Eddie was a mentor, friend, son and brother. He embraced his passion of drawing and brought his ideas to life! Ed Piskor Forever!!!” - Brianna Piskor
“Eddie devoted his life to the comic book world. The best way we can honor him is to keep his legacy alive. ED PISKOR FOREVER.” - Justine Cleaves
“Eddie was a master of his craft. You have your marching orders: Read more comics! Make more comics! Be kind! And say his name!” - “Momma P” Diane Piskor

#Stretch Goal
One of our ultimate goals was to get comics superstar Rob Liefeld to write the foreward to the book. And guess what: because of the awesome campaign we've run, on the final day we got his confirmation that he's in! We did it!

#Timeline
The book is being compiled and we expect to be ready to go to print within a month after the campaign is over. Printing and shipping from that point should take at least 3-4 months, so delivery of rewards is expected to be done early Spring '25.
Zoop will communicate with supporters should any delays occur, if there’s confusion about delivery, or if any other concerns pop up.
