Two inter-dimensional travellers, who come from a parallel Earth where clothes don’t exist, crash land on an Earth very similar to ours circa 1950s. As they go about fixing their ship, they learn about this Earth and explore our complicated relationship with nudity and our human bodies.
If you’re a fan of 50s/60s comics, whether it is the sci-fi stuff like Strange Tales, or the light, humorous, slice-of-life stuff like Archie, then Diary of the Astro-Nudes is definitely for you!
A 32-page comic containing all Astro-Nudes stories previously published online, re-mastered for print, in addition to a new prologue, supplementary material, and more!
*Special note: Shipping will be out of the UK, so if you're in the U.S. you'll notice shipping rates are a little higher than usual. We've counter-acted this by offering the rewards at the very lowest pricing possible -- so the combined fee should still be in a range you're used to paying for crowdfunded comics :)

DIARY OF THE ASTRO-NUDES is a retro sci-fi/slice of life comic that takes inspiration from 50s comic books like Strange Tales, shows like My Favourite Martian and 1960s nudist camp films. It is about two inter-dimensional travellers who come from a parallel Earth where clothes don’t exist, and crash land on an Earth very similar to ours, circa 1950s. As they go about fixing their ship, they learn about this Earth, and explore our complicated relationship with nudity and our human bodies.
Diary of the Astro-Nudes is my first comics writing project. Before that I had never written comics before - I had only worked as artist with other writers. It is also a project that comes from a personal place -- as someone who has been calling himself a casual nudist for a long time I've always wanted to explore the topic in comics form, and as someone who is a fan of 60s comics (and all things retro really) I've always wanted to do something with that aesthetic, but never got the opportunity to.
This comic started as a series of illustrations that I was posting online, then evolved into a series of short stories (or strips, no pun intended!) that I started publishing in December 2020. With this print edition, I am collecting the stories that ran online, re-mastered for print, together with never seen before pages that connect the overall narrative together, supplementary material, and more! And with your help, I will be able to bring this comic to paper, along with other cool rewards that I have planned!
Ahmed Raafat is a UK-based Egyptian comic book artist. He is one of the creators of El-Osba, an Egyptian superhero team that is the ancient land's response to the Avengers and Justice League combined, and Gorilla My Dreams, a noir comic about the adventures of a talking detective/superhero gorilla, and is the writer/artist of this comic! Ahmed has also been an active member of the indie comic book scene since 2016, with several collaborations with indie writers and small press publishers. His most recent work includes illustrations for the Netflix movie The Old Guard, covers for Source Point Press and work on Tales from the Quarantine anthology.

The comic itself is complete, and arrangements have been made with a comic printing house to print the comic, so upon funding of the campaign/receipt of funds the comic is ready to go to print. Estimated delivery is June 2022.
There is no conceivable reason this comic doesn't ship as planned. However, if the last two years have taught us anything, it is that the whole world can go upside down very quickly. So there is always the risk of an unexpected hurdle that comes my way, but I can promise to keep you in the loop every step.
A few short answers to how this works.
