#About
Carnage on Cape Cod is a Lovecraftian double-volume adventure set, located in a fictional (or perhaps, forgotten?) coastal town, where something always lurks in the corner of your mind.
It features an interactive Solo TTRPG novel, along with a traditional adventure adaptation that you can run for your friends after experiencing it on your own.
Both books in the set are standalone and can be separated to suit your tastes and needs.
Not a fan of interactive novels? Pick up the classic TTRPG module alone!
Not into shared TTRPG sessions? Enjoy it by yourself with just the single-player option!
Carnage on Cape Cod explores themes of death, poetry, love, struggles with anxiety, inner voices, and much more. It does so through memorable characters, vivid storytelling, nightmares, and your direct decisions, all the while the Great War ravages the world.
If you would like to learn more, you can visit https://carnageoncapecod.carrd.co/ and read about the project and all that surrounds it in greater detail.

Volume I
The Interactive Solo TTRPG novel is your Game Master.
A horror mystery of 135,000 words, with over 900 story entries and 20 paintings that tailor a personal journey, letting you experience 450 entries per read on average, and saving the rest for consecutive replays.
Countless options and numerous skill checks will drive the narrative forward and shape your character as you progress. The entire PDF will be hyperlinked for accessibility and easy navigation.
Volume I expands on the classic interactive novel format by adding various RPG elements and optional journaling to fully flesh out your investigator and their plight, should you wish to do so.

Volume II
The classic TTRPG adventure scenario holds all a Game Master needs to run this mystery horror- a complete campaign with choice-dependent variations, timelines, backstories of all important characters, their motivations, their portraits, and player handouts.
Carnage on Cape Cod is a system-independent game that comes with its own set of rules, character sheet, and it’s played with six-sided dice.
A system conversion to Basic Roleplaying System (BRP) is also included.
The length of the campaign is 6-9 sessions, and it is suitable for 1-6 players.

What about printed books?
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to meet the numbers projections needed to include physical copies of the books in this campaign.
We spent a lot of time weighing and measuring, and ultimately decided to opt for the lowest goal we need to finish the books first.
But we also came up with the game plan for what comes later!
Should the campaign be successful, we will set up the Print on Demand service, which will offer exclusive deals to our backers who already bought the respective PDFs. They will be able to purchase the printed books, royalty-free, only covering the costs of printing and shipping.
This way, we ensure that we have enough funds to finish the project, while thinking about all of you who helped us get there!
But if we reach the stretch goal of $6k, we will include an add-on option to this campaign, offering the printed versions of the books straight away, as described above.
![]()
Why is this important?
First, because of all the exclusives! Only by backing the project now will your name be written in the books as a contributor. The Gift letter is also an exclusive item you can only get during the campaign, as well as the printed player handouts. And let’s not forget about a portrait you could get for your character or yourself by our CoCC artist!
Second, I consider Carnage on Cape Cod, standalone as it is, to be the first book in many to come, followed by Terror on Mount Triglav (hopefully!). But we’ll talk about that mountain when we cross this sea.
And I need your help to swim to the other side! And we can unlock those sweet (read, scary) stretch goals together! We can reach the printed books sooner!
You can read more about my journey here. The diary teeters between informative and (deeply) personal. And there will be more entries coming along during the course of the campaign.
By funding this campaign, you’re giving me hope, a creative outlet, a compromise-free space, with absolutely no genai to pollute it. By pledging to this campaign, you’re allowing me to create more, you are allowing me to dream, and do what I do best.

#Testimonials
Dave of Chains of Gaelia on itch:
“Looks unsettling in all the right ways. I can't wait to get stuck in!”
Andrew Smart on Bluesky:
“Finally made some time to play Carnage on Cape Cod tonight. The story pulls you right in and it has me hooked. Very excited to keep playing more during my upcoming break. @fangandtentacle.bsky.social & @boramart.bsky.social absolutely crushed this, please go play it.”

#Shipping
We are covering the expenses of the Gift Letter and Player’s Handout Pack; it is included in the price. We will reach out to all folks who bought gift packs and player handouts for their addresses after the campaign is over.
We'll have to add shipping though for physical copies of the books, if those add-ons are unlocked during the course of the campaign. There are certain restrictions, and we will follow USPS’s directions. You can see their restrictions here

#Stretch Goals
$2k - Random Encounters
The list of nine random encounters that can be implemented in both modules of play. The “monster” design is original and made specifically for this story, making the most of it and serving it. Every encounter comes with an encounter description, sketch, stat block, and tips on how to use the creatures/objects. This will be available as a separate PDF and as a bonus chapter in the Adventure Scenario book. Every backer will receive it.
$3k - The Big Bad Pinstripe Suit
One more antagonist joins the fray in Carnage on Cape Cod Classic Adventure Scenario. He comes with his retinue, demanding justice for what’s been done to his daughter, and he’ll hold the party accountable for its swift execution. It comes with his chapter, stat blocks, and branching consequences.
$6k - Hardcover Prints!
Physical copies of the books will be included as an add-on to the campaign, and you will be able to additionally purchase them.
$10k - The Occultist
A new profession to be included in Carnage on Cape Cod Interactive Solo TTRPG novel. The Occultist joins the roster, alongside the Artist, the Cop, and the Doctor. It comes with a completely new introductory scene, many profession-based responses and entries, and an alternate ending.
#Timeline
Carnage on Cape Cod Volume 1 is written in its entirety. The text is ready. The art is in the beginning stages, with many more art pages to come.
Carnage on Cape Cod Volume 2 is written in its entirety, and it requires one more pass of edits to be ready. The art is in the beginning stages.
The PDFs will be delivered by the beginning of July of 2026. The Gift letters and Handout packs will be sent then as well. The Print on Demand service will also be set up, too.
We have given ourselves three months to complete the project, although we believe two months in total are sufficient to accomplish everything. The extra month is just in case we hit some unexpected delays on the way.
#Additional FAQs
Use of GenAI? This work was made by humans. No AI or machine-generated content is included in this project. Supporting this book set means you are supporting real human beings who have dreams, passions, & bills. Thank you for doing so!
Do I need both books? No. If you’re looking for a deeply immersive solitaire pastime only, Volume 1 is right for you.
If I get both books, where do I start? Start with Volume 1. The second book is full of spoilers for the first one. You’ll see this warning on the first pages of Volume 2.
I want to run this adventure as a Game Master. Where do I start? It is highly recommended to get both books if you wish to run this adventure for your friends. This way, you could immerse yourself in the story and gradually uncover its mysteries, rather than read the entire plot, hooks, motivations, and backstories all at once and at the start. Volume 1 will be your Game Master before you take the Game Master’s seat. If you have no interest in doing this, feel free to dive right into Volume 2.
How RPG-heavy is the Interactive novel? The RPG elements are scalable and easily adjustable to suit your playstyle. If you wish to enjoy the story with minimal upkeep, it is possible to strip down the mechanics.
Can I see it before I pledge? Of course! The 50-page demo (prologue) of Volume 1 is free to download. You can download it here
Is the downloadable demo representative of the final look? No. The art will be updated, the layout more polished, and the rules easier to read. But the overall presentation will remain similar.
In which system does a classic adventure scenario run? The book comes with its own set of rules utilizing an easy-to-run D6 system, with an inclusion of Basic Role-playing System (BRP) conversion.
