#The Book
Idle Hands will be a vast collection of artwork spanning Richard Pace’s career, including work from Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse and other publishers as well as his more recent work with Second Coming (co-created with writer Mark Russell), his infamous witches from Coven, and his upcoming series of Viking Horror one-shots. This is in addition to a large array of personal work including celebrity portraits, various daily drawings, as well as glimpses into past comics projects that fell by the wayside over the last thirty-five years.
The 300-page hardcover collection will also delve into his processes for painting, comics pages, his step-by-step cover method, and his working process for traditional pen and ink, digital colour and traditional painting. Further, there will be an exploration of his influences from classically trained artists like John Singer Sargent, masters of Illustration like Frank Frazetta and Joseph Clement Coll, and masters of the comics medium like Bernie Wrightson and Bill Sienkiewicz. And, finally, something we think has been missing from many contemporary artists’ books: a section on what Richard wished he knew when starting out on this career path, and how to survive and grow as an artist and creator in these hard times.
Intended to be far more than just a book of beautiful images, this collection is aimed at being a companion as we wander through the varied subjects and approaches taken, as well as the missteps along the way. The hope is to deliver a work containing not only a vast amount of artwork, but a sense of the person who made it. This book will only exist with your support, which will be thoroughly appreciated.

#Timeline
All the artwork is completed. Editing text and production should take approximately two months, barring emergencies. So, after prepping the files, we expect the book to be ready to head to print 3 months after the campaign is over. Printing and shipping should take 2-3 more months, so delivery of rewards is expected to be done in February or March 2026.
Zoop will communicate with supporters should any delays occur, if there’s confusion about delivery, or if any other concerns pop up.
