Story

When Underglow Comics launched in 2020, the first series was Vampocalypse #1. The premise was simple: What if the President of the United States decided to cull 7 billion people to reduce the world’s population and ensure that there were enough resources to go around? But when a tribe of vampire women discovered the sinister plan, they twisted events to their benefit.

Underglow Comics has published 22 comics in the last 18 months, including Vampocalypse #1-4, the Vampocalypse Ashcan, and a spin-off issue called Underglow POP! Vampocalypse #1, which is a huge 72 page issue, delving into the history of the series’ two main characters Rachel and Katie.

This new series, Vampocalypse Origins, digs further into the past of the story, and introduces a new character: Alex, who is essential to the vampires’ plan for world domination. This all-new 24-page issue is written and drawn by Gary Parkin, with colors by Chris Hall and Gary Parkin. With your help, we can get this fantastic new project into print, and into your hands!

Bio

Gary Parkin

I'm the writer and artist of Underglow Comics titles Jungle Captive, Vampocalypse and Model Behavior, I've always loved comics and drawing, so when I was furloughed from work in 2020, I used the time to put together my first full comic book, Vampocalypse #1. Since then I've been able to quit my job and I now make comics full-time, putting out a new issue every 5-6 weeks, plus loads of bonus material that I put together especially for my Patreon followers. I've also produced cover art for a number of other publishers, including Totally Rad Comics, BAD Press Comics and The NextArt Verlag.

Chris Hall

As well as being the regular colorist on Underglow Comics' Vampocalypse,  he also provides cover colors for issues of Jungle Captive and Model Behavior, and you'll be seeing a lot more of his work in Underglow comic books in the future! He has 16 years of experience as a colorist, for Marvel Comics, Upper Deck, Zenescope, Eibon Press, Alterna Comics, American Mythology, Bad Press Comics and more. He enjoys arguing with people on the internet.

Underglow Comics is absolutely committed to providing high quality stories and art. Writer/artist Gary Parkin pours his heart and soul into every project, and it shows in the finished products. Whether you’re here for the vampires, the art, or for that naughty cover, there’s something that everyone should be able to appreciate. Independent comic book publishing isn’t easy, and supporting your favorite creators is the best way to give encouragement to this amazing industry of talented individuals.

Timeline

The issue is fully drawn and the first 6 pages colored, and the rest of the pages are with the colorist now. I anticipate the finished colors and letters will be complete before the campaign ends on Zoop. Once the funds are in, your items will be printed and leave us within one month, arriving with you no later than 12 weeks from the end date of the campaign.
